Mawlana Hazar Imam is on a six-day visit to Canada, during which he will be in Ottawa and Toronto to attend various meetings and events. On Thursday, Mawlana Hazar Imam will deliver introductory remarks at the Global Centre for Pluralism’s Annual Pluralism Lecture, being held at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.
Ottawa, 16 May 2016 — Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Canada this afternoon, commencing six-day visit to the country. During the visit, Hazar Imam will be in Ottawa and Toronto to attend various meetings and events.
Lisbon, 12 May 2016 — Mawlana Hazar Imam is in Portugal for his first official visit since a landmark agreement establishing the global Seat of the Ismaili Imamat in Portugal came into effect. Yesterday evening he attended a dinner hosted in his honour by the President of the Portuguese Republic.
Lisbon, 12 May 2016 — The Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Ismaili Imamat signed an agreement today that will strengthen research capacity and improve quality of life in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking countries. Mawlana Hazar Imam and members of his delegation, as well as Ministry staff were present at the signing ceremony.
Canada’s Governor General opened a two-day conference at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in Ottawa that aims to raise the profile of higher education on the global development agenda.
