The 2017 Unity Games has brought Jamats from all over the African continent together in Mombasa. Between 13 – 16 April, more than 700 Ismaili athletes will compete in 19 sports, and will be cheered on by hundreds of fans.

Mombasa, 13 April 2017 — Every two years, the Ismaili communities of East Africa come together for the Unity Games, a festival of sport. This year, the Games will include Jamats from all over the entire African continent.

In April, the 2009 Unity Games held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania drew Jamati members from all over the country, as well as Kenya, Uganda and even Canada to compete in the spirit of brotherhood. Athletes were joined by spectators who also came to celebrate an enjoyable experience for all.
