The Opening Ceremony on 23 July in Dubai marked the official start of the 2016 Jubilee Games. The 10 000-strong audience erupted in ovation over and over again, as thousands more around the world streamed it live at TheIsmaili.org.

The 2016 Jubilee Games officially opened on Friday, 23 July in the presence of Prince Rahim and His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. The event marked the start of a week-long celebration of excellence in sport that has drawn some 2,000 athletes of the global Ismaili Muslim community together to compete.

Dubai, 23 July 2016 — Prince Rahim arrived at the Dubai World Trade Centre this afternoon, as athletes, spectators and volunteers prepared for the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Jubilee Games.

Islamabad, 27 May 2016 — As their working visit to Pakistan drew to a close, Princess Zahra and Prince Rahim expressed optimism and a sense of opportunity about the tasks that lay ahead of AKDN in improving quality of life for the people of the country. The two were guests of honour at a Jamati institutional dinner on Wednesday before they departed Pakistan yesterday.

Islamabad, 25 May 2016 — Princess Zahra and Prince Rahim were in Gilgit yesterday, where they inaugurated a 50-bed medical centre that will serve as a healthcare hub for the surrounding region. They also visited other AKDN programmes and a Jamatkhana in the area.

Aiglemont, 14 April 2015 — Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa have announced the arrival of their first child, a son named Prince Irfan, born in Geneva, Switzerland on 11 April. Mawlana Hazar Imam’s special message to the global Jamat on this occasion has expressed the great happiness of the Aga Khan and Spears family.

Aiglemont, 24 October 2014 — Mawlana Hazar Imam informed the Jamat today that Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa are expecting their first child. Around the world, Ismailis are gathering in Jamatkhanas to celebrate the happy news.

In January 2014, Prince Rahim and his wife Princess Salwa travelled to Kenya, where they joined in marking the opening of new facilities for the Diamond Trust Bank and Jubilee Insurance, and visited the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa.
